Damage Deposit

  • Damage Fee will be applied to the credit card used to rent boots, waterproof pants and/or trekking poles. If any of the gear is not returned or returned damaged the following rates apply: Boots: US$100, Pants: US$60, Poles: US$70

    • Rentals Cancellation Policy – Antarctica and the Arctic

    • Cancellation up to 30 days before ship embarkation date: full refund (rental and deposit)
    • Cancellation 29 days or less before ship embarkation date: no rental refund (rental fee not refunded)
    • Promotional discounts cannot be applied to rental fee

    Rentals Cancellation Policy – Alaska

    • Cancellation up to 10 days before sailing: full refund
    • Cancellation less than 10 days before sailing: sorry, no refund
    • Promotional discounts cannot be applied to rental fee

    Why Rent Boots?

      Less luggage. Boots are heavy and take up lots of your allowed checked luggage weight.

    • Convenience. Free boot delivery to the ship through our Concierge Service.
    • Sustainable choice. Renting boots is a smart environmental choice if you will likely not wear them again. The drastic savings in fuel and carbon is seen below... Both the Reduce & Reuse part of 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle' are implemented.

    • If your intinerary includes South Georgia and/or the South Sandwich Islands, due to biosecurity measures your boots size will be recalculated based on a unisex boot with a sole that has been approved for this area. You don't need to do anything. This is advance notice so you can be reassured that you have the right boot for this region and that the size may be different from the size that you selected.


    Waterproof Pants and Trekking Poles

    • Waterproof pants are also essential to stay warm and dry in Antarctica, especially during Zodiac rides. Our rental pants are waterproof, breathable and fit over the rental boots.
    • Trekking poles offer stability while walking ashore but are often awkward to pack in luggage and/or to carry on Zodiac rides if they don’t collapse. Our rental trekking poles collapse down to 25.6 in / 65 cm.
